Our property known as the Solwezi Project, is vast, highly prospective, and located in the heart of the Zambia-Congo Copper Belt, the second largest copper producing region in the world. We are surrounded by world-class producing copper mines, including Africa’s largest copper mining complex right next door – First Quantum’s 1 billion tonne Kansanshi Mine1.
Our geological environment is conducive to world-class, high-grade, and scalable copper deposits, and our 506 km2 property features numerous structural and mineralized targets. The discoveries made on our property to date, have similar geological characteristics and grades to world-class operating mines located just next door. Due to its extraordinary size, scale and the quality of our targets, our property features something intrinsically rare, multiple opportunities for a transformative discovery.
Oxide Copper Across Our Property
Oxide copper represents a near-term, near-surface mining opportunity on our property. Extensive oxide copper potential exists across entire property package, with mineralization encountered in numerous areas of previous exploration.
Our goal is to delineate greater than 50 million tonnes of oxide at 0.3% Copper.
A potential oxide copper resource represents an attractive opportunity for an existing local operator or new entrant to the world-class Zambian Copperbelt to achieve near-term production.
In turn, oxide copper mining could represent significant annual revenue for Midnight Sun Mining
